A QR tattoo should point to a living page, not a dead link. Use a stable QR address and update the page behind it whenever links change.
Use a permanent QR address
Do not tattoo a short campaign link or a social profile URL directly. Tattoo a stable QR address that you control, then change the destination later.
Test before ink
Use high error correction, enough white margin, strong contrast and multiple scan tests at the real tattoo size before sending artwork to an artist.
Keep the page editable
After the tattoo heals, update links, music, booking, memorial notes, portfolio work, events or redirects without changing the tattoo itself.
Preserve four modules of quiet zone
Keep a clear border at least four QR modules wide around every edge. Decorative frames, lettering, shading and nearby linework should stay outside this decoding area.
Use the fewest practical modules
A short stable URL usually produces a simpler QR than a long destination URL. Larger modules give the artist more room to preserve clean separation after healing.
Retest after healing
Scanning the stencil proves only the starting geometry. Check the healed tattoo in normal indoor and outdoor light, from several distances, and keep a readable fallback URL nearby when the context allows.

What should I test before getting a QR tattoo?
Test the exact exported code at final size, then test the stencil on the intended placement with multiple phones, angles and lighting conditions. Do not proceed if any finder pattern, module or quiet-zone edge is distorted.
Is high error correction always better?
Not automatically. Higher correction adds redundancy but can also increase symbol density. Balance correction level, URL length, physical size and placement, then verify the actual design by scanning it.
Can I change where the tattoo points?
Yes, if the tattoo encodes a stable dynamic route. You change the hosted page or redirect behind that route; the pixels in the tattoo remain unchanged.
